Whipsnade Zoo is located near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, and is one of two zoos owned by the Zoological Society of London (a charity devoted to the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats). The 600 acre park is one of Europe's largest wildlife conservation parks, home to almost 3000 animals. The main attractions include Passage through Asia (large paddock with Bactrian Camels, Hog Deer, Yak, Axis Deer and Pere David's Deer, Lions of the Serengeti (a pride of African Lions), Rhinos of Nepal (a group of Greater One-horned Rhinoceros), Elephant Herd (herd of nine Asian Elephants), Discovery Centre (daily educational show with various bird species), Cheetah Rock (a group of Cheetahs that inform visitors about ZSL's cheetah conservation project in Tanzania), and the Children's Farm (an area aimed at children with domesticated and mostly free roaming livestock including Turkeys, Llamas, Alpacas, Cows, Silky Chickens, Horses, Donkeys and Goats).
