Saffron Building Society Review

The Saffron Building Society are a regional building society that pride themselves on understanding your needs. They remain a mutual organisation, which means they're owned by their members and exist solely for their benefit. They provide a range of mortgages and savings products through their network of 12 branches which serve local communities in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and London. Their savings and investment products include tax free savings, notice accounts, immediate access and children's savings. Whereas their mortgage products are flexible to suit a range of individual needs. Originally a terminating society, Saffron Walden Second Building Society became a permanent building society in 1857 when they changed their name to The Saffron Walden Second Benefit Building and Investment Society. The Saffron Building Society are proud to remain a mutual, which means that they are owned by their members (customers), and can put all their surplus funds back into the organisation to benefit members through better interest rates for savers and lower interest rates for borrowers, while at the same time providing better customer services, without the need to continually cut costs to meet shareholders demands for increased profits.
