eurostar Review

Eurostar is the famous high-speed railway service which connects London with Paris and Brussels through the Channel Tunnel between the UK and France, which is owned and operated separately by Eurotunnel. The service originates from London terminus at the St Pancras International station, with other British calling points at Ebbsfleet International and Ashford International. Stops in France include Calais-Fréthun and Lille-Europe, with the main Paris terminus at Gare du Nord. Belgium trains terminate at Midi/Zuid station in Brussels. There are also limited services from London to Disneyland Paris and other seasonal destinations in southern France. The Eurostar reaches speeds of up to 186 mph on a network of high-speed lines and was operated jointly by the national railway companies of France, Belgium and Eurostar (UK) Ltd until 2010. Eurostar today is the dominant operator in cross-channel intercity passenger travel carrying more passengers than all airlines combined. The first service ran in 1994, providing city centre to city centre travel by rail between London and Paris. Today Eurostar runs up to 18 services daily to Paris and 9 to Brussels. Services at one time originated from London Waterloo International, but in November 2007 Eurostar switched to its new London home, St. Pancras International station.
