Direct Line Review

Direct Line is part of the Direct Line Group, a company specialising in the sales of insurance and other financial products directly to consumers over the phone and via the Internet. They were the first insurer in the UK to operate over the telephone in 1985 and quickly became the largest provider of motor vehicle insurance in the Uk from their head office in Croydon. The company operates satellite offices around the UK in Glasgow, Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester. Direct Line was part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group's insurance division, but was separated from that group to form a new business. In 2012 however the Direct Line Group was effectively nationalised alongside RBS due to their dependency on UK taxpayers money. Direct Line is especially well known in the UK for their distinctive red telephone on wheels logo, used extensively in their marketing. Direct Line is a fantastic British success story starting from scratch in 1985 and today servicing over five million customers over the phone and on the Internet, plus an international expansion with businesses already established in Germany and Italy. Direct Line was voted "Britain's Most Trusted Insurance Brand" in the Reader's Digest Annual Survey.
